The thing about Christmas stockings is that they are only useful really for one day out of the year. Nobody wears these stockings except as a funny “hey look at me I’m wearing stockings” moment, and as soon as you put them on, you wonder how it evolved to the point where people would create an uncomfortable mockery of clothing just for a decorative tradition of gift placement. Sure, they fit more surprises than a real sock, but we are living in the age where more isn’t necessarily better.
